So, what can you do when the power goes out & there's a snow day? I was confronted with this very dilemma last week when my power flickered on & off for about 8 hours, then went off completely for 24 hours. So here's my list:
- Clip the fingernails of your left hand
- Humidify all wooden instruments
- Alphabetize your Vermont Ukulele Society Songbook
- Organize all your ukulele books, DVDs, and CDs
- Find a new song in the newly alphabetized Vt Ukes Songbook & Jumpin' Jim books
- Practice (actually PRACTICE) your ukulele
- Locate your kazoo, siren, bicycle horn, ratchet, slide whistle, washtub bass and all other novelty instruments so they are ready for the next BIG gig.
- Polish the ukes & clean the dust bunnies under the strings between the soundhole & bridge
- Memorize a song (WHAT?!? memorize?!?! what's that?)
- Perform for an appreciative audience (or any audience, in my case, my doggies!)
